Inspirit Quattro Ultralight (Dawei) This rubber is similar to the Dawei Inspirit Quattro, but with a thinner topsheet that reduces the weight.

This rubber was recommended to me by a member on another forum. I tried it and was very impressed overall. Let's face it, most of us on here are not 2000+ players. Alot of ratings come from players that would say it is not good enough. I say this rubber is an excellent tensor rubber, expecially for the price. It's a little slower than some out there sure, but it's not slow. It has excellent control, blocks great, and loops very well. Some have conpared it to the original version and slammed it, but forget the old version for a second and see this for what it is. It's very light, a little tacky, and an excellent tensor for beginner thru intermediate players. Close to table is ausome, but the farther you get from the table, it will loose speed. I am now using it as a backhand rubber on an all around blade.

IMO, this Inspirit Quattro UL rubber is a step back of Inspirit Quattro. The to sheet is thinner, but it doesn't have the same feel of built-in glue anymore. The bounce is a lot slower. I believe this rubber is good for beginer to intermediate players. Expert or master level will find this rubber a little unresponsive and perhaps, over engineeered to save weight.

I thought the top sheet of Inspirit ultra light version is simply too thin. It is definitely not as durable as the Inspirit Quattro, and the speed is much slower than the predecessor. A step backward from the predecessor.
Some inconsistencies:
I ordered same specs for both red and black. For some reason, the black one's sponge seems to be thicker than 2.3mm, but since the top sheet is thinner, the overall thickness of the rubber is still within specification. Trajectory is rather high compared to German or Japan.

This is an enchanced version of the Inspirit Quattro. There had been many complaints about the weight of the previous version of being too heavy, so Dawei has since produced an ultralight version of the rubber w/ a much thinner topsheet. The result is an affordable light weight euro substitute rubber.

Contrary to what Dawei advertises (speed glue effect), this rubber does need speedglue/tuners to maximize potential. Without speedglue, the rubber feels slow compared to Euro made speed glue effect rubber. The topsheet is slightly tacky (wears off after a session), and it provides very decent spin on serves. Its low gears play very well (because it is slow), but it lacks the top speed to play away from the table.

Even though I was very disappointed with the performace, this rubber is a very good value for people not wanting to shell out $40 for Euro/Jap rubber, it just lacks the speed that i want.
