Mizutani Jun (Butterfly)

Mizutani Jun, Japan’s rising star, along with Butterfly’s technical staff, has designed the ultimate attacking weapon for his modern topspin game. Harnessing the power and control of Butterfly’s ZL Carbon Fiber, the Jun Mizutani Jun blade offers great speed and more dwell time for the ball on the blade than traditional carbon rackets. The racket matches his dynamic style of play and could enhance your game as well.

Extremely fast, no lie. I like to use paddle that's extremely fast, however you need to have a lot of control (from you). My setup is Mizutani Jun, F/H T05 black 2.1mm, B/H T05FX 1.9. I can some what manage my forehand, but the backhand is crazy. It would fly out as soon as you block. However, looping with my backhand is a lot better. IF you are seriously considering getting this blade, make sure you are experienced (since it has carbon, not recommended for immediate level player, since you won't learn your feeling of playing...), make sure not too use a rubber too fast, the blade itself is already fast. I wouldn't go anything beyond the speed for T05 F/H, it's really hard to control already, please don't try bryce speed or anything like that...backhand i recommend a rubber with a lot of control to counter the lack of control on blocking. something like mark V... my review probably made no sense, but to sum it up, don't use something more than you can control, only use mizutani if you are experienced.

This blade is not for everybody, but it is by far the best blade for me I have come across!
First of all, it is a beauty! Second, it offers an incredible feel for the ball which makes most allround blades jealous, not to spesk of the offensive blades.
The dwell time is large, spin capabilities are tremendous! Blocking is sweet, serve return is outstanding. The catapult is great, with light speed for touch shots, and tremendous speed for kills!
Give it a try!

mizutani jun blade is pretty expensive, but its definitely worth EVERY penny of what you spend. here is one of my favorite looping blades. like the other reviewers, it is similar to the amultart zl carbon. the mizutani is a little more light weight though. it feels less heavy, and also, i think it is like 2 plie wood thinner than amultart. the feel is a little more quick on the mizutani, while the amultrat feels more powerful. there are both equall good for looping. Mizutani i think is a little more comfortable to use at mid court looping because it seems to have more elasticity in the shots. \

if you are looper, this is essential!

WOW! I was sold at the moment I took this out of the box. I paid quite a bit of money for it and was very anxious to get it, but when I took it out of the package, let me tell you that first it takes my breath away just to look at it. What a beautiful blade. Both this blade and the Amultart (Other ZL Carbon blade from Butterfly) are very beautiful blades, but they go beyond that. They are both great playing blades. I got the chance to test both blades using Tenergy 05 rubber on both sides.

First, the similarities. Both blades have a pretty hard feel, with the Amultart being slightly harder than the Mizutani Jun. Both blades are also very explosive. Butterfly rates the Amultart as 10.2 on speed and the Mizutani Jun as 10.0, and those numbers are very accurate, as both are lightning fast and its hard to tell the difference when asked which one is faster. Also, both have similar weights as well, and excellent weight balance. They are noticeable head heavy, but you can still get tremendous racket speed because there is some weight in the handle (not all of it is in the head).

Now the difference: Here is where I tell you why I prefer the Mizutani Jun over the Amultart and why I believe is is a better blade for whats to come in the future of table tennis. With the speed glue ban in effect, The Mizutani has a much much much better feel than the Amultart without sacrificing anything. The dwell time on the Mizutani is noticeable greater than the Amultart, so I was able to hit very powerful, spinny, point winning shots with confidence with the Mizutani, whereas many of my shots went long when using the same stroke with the Amultart. There is also a good deal more control with the Mizutani than the Amultart. The Amultart acts too much like a slingshot, whereas the Mizutani acts like a trampoline, allowing the ball to contact the rubber for a longer time, which makes it good for both spin and speed. It is much easier to block, chop, and play a delicate, touchy short game with the Mizutani. Overall, this blade is the way to go. With all these new "spring sponge" rubbers coming from butterfly to counter the speed glue effect, most of them will feel very hard and a blade like Mizutani takes full advantage of those rubbers without sacrificing any control or feel. Even though both of these blades are good products from Butterfly, I highly recommend the Mizutani Jun over the Amultart.

The best blade I have ever used. Great control, great feel, great speed for a control blade. Only other blade I would use along with this is its brother, the Amultart.
